Allow me to share the joy that I am fortunate enough to call my ‘job’. The homeowners of this sale are an older couple ~ second marriage for both with a genuine love and respect for each other, which, in itself is a blessing to witness. On first morning setup, we had the privilege of hearing him share his life story; began working at age 13, lived through 2 wars, lived on 35 cents to a dollar a week as a veteran doing any job he could get his hands on and would take ketchup from restaurants to eat as meals. Through a strong work ethic, he worked his way up in a trucking company and then took off, quite successfully, on his own. Reminded me of my dad <misty> Sooo much more to this, HIS story, but wanted to share as a reminder that when you attend Estate Sales … when we have the great fortune to be invited in to someone’s home, into their family, into their world … that there is a story there.
